Château Lamothe Guignard to Sauternes
Length of visit : 60 minutesLanguages spoken
Château Lamothe Guignard was classified as a Sauternes Second Growth in 1855.
The estate is located on one of the highest points in the commune of Sauternes. Known in 1814 as Lamothe d’Assaut, it dominates the Ciron valley. A turbulent destiny meant that this property passed through many hands and was broken up into several pieces. The largest part (20 hectares) was acquired in 1981 by Philippe & Jacques Guignard. Château Lamothe Guignard is a family estate that also produces dry white and red Graves wines under the name Clos du Hez.
