Château Couhins to Villenave-d'ornon

Located just outside Bordeaux, in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan appellation in Villenave d’Ornon, Château Couhins is a Graves Cru Classé that has belonged to INRAE, the French National Institute for Agronomic and Environmental Research, since 1968.
Building on its historical roots, the estate now deploys all the results of the viticultural research carried out by INRAE. The Château benefits from the latest innovations in research to become the Institute’s ‘showcase’, with the aim of promoting the excellence of scientific knowledge in the service of a prestigious wine and sustainable viticulture.
Château Couhins has been awarded the “Vignobles et Découvertes” label by Atout France, and also won a Best Of d’Or Wine Tourism award in 2015 and 2025 in the “Promotion of environmental practices in wine tourism” and “Sustainable wine tourism” categories.
