Throughout 2025, the Biens venus! event invites contemporary art to the heart of seven emblematic French heritage monuments. This project, born of a partnership between the Centre national des arts plastiques (Cnap) and the Centre des monuments nationaux (CMN), weaves an unprecedented dialogue between contemporary works and the history and architecture of the monuments that host them.
As part of Biens venus!, the Château ducal de Cadillac is hosting a key work from the Cnap collection, Le Carrosse by Xavier Veilhan.
This work was presented for the first time in 2009, in the courtyard of the Château de Versailles, Xavier Veilhan offers a re-reading of one of Louis XIV’s carriages. Mobilising unprecedented 3D modelling techniques, the artist applies kinetic and futuristic forms to this figure emerging from history.
