Domaine Départemental Gérard Lagors : ouvert partiellement to Hostens

Due to the fires in the summer of 2022, only the beaches and around the Bourg and Lamothe lakes are accessible. Apart from these, access to the entire Domaine Départemental d’Hostens and the Gât-Mort lagoons is prohibited until further notice. Work to make the site safe is underway, and there are significant risks, particularly of falling trees and collapses.
The former Hostens brown coal quarries now form a 600-hectare natural area of lakes and forest. Owned by the Conseil Départemental de la Gironde, this area has been developed for the discovery of the environment and the practice of outdoor leisure activities.
