La Ronde des Ombelles is in response to a request from children in the village. Their wish to have access to games was taken up and relayed by the municipality. From the outset, artist Yves Chaudouët chose to carry the children’s message in the sense of a bearer of fire. The children and the project have grown together. We had to get to the point where the first desire could be metamorphosed in the adolescents they were becoming, raise the words like embers, find a poetic form that combined steel and luminescent ceramics, the turnstile and the plant maze, and so on. La Ronde des Ombelles has never strayed far from the first dream. It is now a work of art in seven modules spread over a circle 140 metres in diameter.
